It looks as though Mags may have had vWD - which is an issue as Phoebe will be a carrier/be affected. Need to have a chat with my vet - something else to worry about!!

It is a blood clotting disorder, yes...and its a worry because Phoebe cannot be free from it if Mags had it. I am having conversations with a leading expert in the field to see just how many danes are affected...

Chloe have you done a search on google, I had a quick look last night and couldn't actually find a reference to Danes having this disease, but I did know of a wolfhound many years ago and the parents and litter were tested and they were clear.

Over the years I have found quite a few things Danes can have that are not generally known and often can be colour related.
