How do you know what they are really like if you don't go and see one ?

I would suggest you attend something and find out about it for yourself before being so biased. Some people just read the propaganda rather than finding out the facts.

I saw a lot of happy healthy dogs at Crufts, the majority of these dogs have a lot of effort put into getting them in the peak of condition. My dogs had a great day out as did their friends from all over the country.

Then I would suggest you attend some before you speak so negativity about them.

You are suggesting that showing is producing unhealthy dogs, you have so much to say about them, without even seeing any.

You do realise that at Crufts, judges have the power to remove unhealthy dogs from the show ring and show monitors may report dogs that they fear are unhealthy to the show vet, who can order their exclusion from competition as well as Best of Breed winners and champions in the 15 high profile breeds, which may have a tendency to suffer from health problems due to exaggerated features, will need to be vet checked before their awards are confirmed? I wonder what other doggy organisations go that far to make sure that the dogs are healthy as can be.

Not to mention that they have huge pushes at the event and on televised coverage to educate people about the right way to buy dogs/puppies ie health tested, responsibly bred ones. It's a great way to educate the masses in good dogmanship.

Whilst you are of course entitled to your opinion and you don't have to like everything everyone else does, you are throwing some big accusations around. Can you actually explain, in factual terms, why Crufts themselves are responsible of "fostering the breeding of defects"?

right and where's your prob?

that you are even shocked about that crossing?

or do you believe that my dog is worth less than yours, only because she is a "bas*x*ard"?

I don't think so

well, I just love the character of the Pekinese (you can look up at here, at the "dog breeds" section)
but I never would like to have a "pure" one
as I got to know that breed already when I was a child, my aunt had one of those poor creatures

for example, last autumn me and my friend herded back home the heifers from the summer grazing, it was a walk of a few kilometers across fields and meadows
I kept her at a cord of about 15 metres
and she was running and impelling and herding the group of about ten heifers for all that long way

do you think, I had could do that with an pure Pekinese?

I do not like that crufts stuff at all!

as I think, they are fostering the breedings of defects at all!

sorry, but that's just how I'm thinking about!

as not the "allegedly beauty" is important, the health of our beloved dogs should stand in the foreground!
Were the parents of your dog fully health tested ??? The GSD himself & all the dogs in his pedigree are & he has working qualifications to prove he is fit for function He isn't my ideal GSD as I prefer Grey workingline GSDs, but he is a healthy dog

once, years ago, I owned an "Old" GSD, what means, a long coated race of them, which not once is accepted of the FCI and he had a straight back, was healthy! never did suffer from HD!
Er how did you know your dog did not have HD was he/she X rayed ??? if not how did you know as I have had working bred BCs with HD & without X rays you could not tell !
