I have had plenty of children round my house who on their first visit did things I did not like.

I did not let them continue, I got them to refrain, and told the parents at the next available opportunity.

I certainly would not think "oh I cannot tell the child off for scribbling on my walls........." I did not allow my child to do it, how would it look if I allowed a visitor to!?

I would expect the same if the positions were reversed, it is common sense and good manners.
