I've just read this right the way through - said OMG a fair number of times as well. How the hell can she do this to you and get away with it? It seems so unfair. And what the hell happened to the "in sickness and health" part of her marriage vows? She clearly seems to be ignoring those.

I really hope you manage to get this sorted out Snorri and get home. I also hope your dog situation gets sorted. It must be so hard for you. I can't imagine it. Just know that we are all behind you here and sending lots of cyber *hugs*. F*** all help in the real world but I hope it makes you feel a *little* better.

Why don't you simply start divorce proceedings on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour & then the property will be subject to the divorce, which as it has been adapted for your use your solicitor should seek for you to occupy. Seems the best way to me.

A good idea, but we aren't actually married. I call her Mrs.S because it is too long a story to go into. Which, I suppose, makes her a 66-year-old tart. (I'm a toyboy )

Surely if you're not married that makes it easier for you to get your home back

So long as you lived in the house for over 6 months (and as you've had improvements made for your health, I'm guessing you were), then you have the same rights as a husband would.

I've been in the house since we bought it in 1993, and have money invested in it (several thousand), so I will consult my lawyer again.

Sorry, Snorri, if this has already been discussed, but is your name on the deeds? Do you part own it? If so, say you want your half. It will have to be sold then so you can have your money.

I am sorry for your problems, I really hope it gets sorted.
