That's implying the owner is irresponsible, but so irresponsible that they passed all the other checks.

If a rescue said that to me then I would also go to a breeder.
They have no right to insist that a dog the owner already has, be neutered.
Rescue's dogs need homes yet rescues put these rules in place which makes it very difficult for the rescue dog!
No, i think the majority of people understand why rescues beleive in neuter and do it themselves.

Yes they probably do,but they don't have to impose their view on their own dog.
It may well be a show dog, again it's the owners choice to neuter, not rescues to force the issue.

so rescues would turn a great home down, doesn't make sense

Sometimes it can be really difficult placing a dog into a house where there is an un-neutered animal. I know I wouldn't place one of my rescued male dogs in a home with an unspayed bitch. Even though our male would be neutered some still cock their legs and become aggressive with other dogs when the bitch they are living with comes into season. I would just prefer to place with other neutered pets. When you put all the work into placing a dog in it's new home just to get it back as soon as the resident bitch has a season, it's very disheartening not to mention distressing for the dog having to be moved on again.

Yes, because by doing this they are condoning that animals dont have to be neutered, which is not their beleif.

I don't think so,it is the rescue by forcing the issue.
Why should a rescue tell a possible owner to get their own dog neutered, which may have been expensive to buy.

I must be irresponsible then as I own two entire dogs and No I wouldn't neuter on the say so of the rescue concerned,as far as I'm concerned my dogs are nothing to do with them.
