El Vez was named after the Mexican Elvis, the breeders were Spaniards and had nicknamed him punky so we thought he needed a rock'n'roll name and since it was around Christmas I was listening to the El Vez Christmas album. (the cat is called Machiavel, she is black and looked evil when we first got her. She was nicknamed the spawn of satan before we decided)

Porsche - cause my husband's dream dogs are german shepherds and bloodhounds and his dream car is a porsche - and our Porsche happens to be a shepXbloodhound and she is as classy as a porsche
Magoo Tiberius - black pug - cause he's a pug and looks like Mr. Magoo, but my husband loved the name Tiberius
Diva - yellow lab - because my husband was watching the wrestling Diva's on t.v. when we decided to get her
Maya - fawn pug - because she was so timid when we got her - he called her Mia Maya and she responded

Missy because when we got her we spent 3 days trying to think of a suitable name, but every time my husband came into the room he said "Hello Miss how are you?" and it just seemed right, the children then wanted to call her Misty as she is grey but my husband had decided on Missy and had the final say.
Our cat is called Kitty because we let or then 4 year old daughter name her!!

Oscar was called Mickey by the Dog's Trust (they name litters around a theme and his were all disney names) but I didn't like it.

Ages ago (when I was hoping to have a baby - still not happened I just don't obsess about it now) we made a list of girl's/boy's names we liked and as we couldn't decide what to name our boy we went through the list and chose one we probably wouldn't use for a human baby even though we liked it.

Plus, I like Oscar Wilde as an author so that helped.
