Wonderful thing to say. Too many people are puritanical about their breeds these days. My parents used to have a "real" mongrel, I grew up with him, and they will always have a special place in my heart! He lived to a ripe old age, too. Don't get me wrong, I love my Staffie, but there's a lot to be said for a little mix 'n' matching!

If I could own any 5 breeds of dog in the world they would be
1. Caucasian Ovtcharka
2. Fila Brazilero
3. Cane Corso
4. Dogo Argentino
5. African Boerboel
I like em rough and tough lolz
(Spanish mastiff/ pyrenean mastiff/ Amstaff/Centeral asian Ovtcharka/ East Siberian Laika/ American bulldog (Johnson)) all missed the list by the smallest of margins.

How do you guys pick only 5???

I'm cheating....

1. Any sighthound (Greyhound, Whippet, Saluki, Pharaoh)
2. Any of the handsome terriers (Welsh, Lakeland, Wirefox, Kerry Blue, Irish)
3. Any of the foreign gundogs (so not Labs,ESS or Cockers - don't like them - sorry!) GSP, Wire and smooth Vizsla, Spinone, Pudel pointer, Weims e.t.c
4. Mongrels - you can't beat them
5. Foxhound - they're so gentle, friendly and happy.

So, more than 5 but hey ho, I love dogs!!

His and Her's

His

Norwegian Elkhound
Akita
Malamute
Greenland Dog
Siberian Husky

Hers

Norwegian Elkhound (Know, own and love)
Eurasier (pretty and very loving... still getting to know our Gem had her for just over 6 months now)
Shiba Inu (Keeping with the spitz, I think they are beautiful, cheeky and brave)
Leonberger or Estrelia Mountain Dog (love big dogs, but don't like drool... I would love one)
Labrador (Would love a dog that will be very easy to train, love to play etc)
