Hi Jay and welcome, you see we are all biased toward our own breed, I thought mine may be just the ticket but there you go only go for mine if you don't mind an independent breed that sheds hair. On the good side you will never tire them out by walking up mountains all day but if you want to sit at the PC that will be fine to, just don't expect them to play fetch they are far to proud for that thinking you chucked it you fetch it.

Im not sure if its ok to ask this but here goes,
I have recently split from my partner after 7 years
He just announced that he no longer wanted to share his life with me ,Just as I announced to him about getting a dog to share what I thought was our lovely life together .
Now at present Im working from home ,So I have loads of time on my hands for a new addition ,But what I would like to ask advice on is which breed would be best ?
I have not owned a dog for many years as I was a bit of a wayward fellow ,
I grew up around various breeds , That belong to family members ,But my own family pets were mostly strays that we got from rescue centres ,
But I would like a dog thats loves excercise as I have let myself go a little over the years with Nigel ,
But I would like one thats good around children as a lot of my close friends and family have children ,So it would need to be a breed thats known for liking children and having great temprements ,
I do not plan to go into this lightly I do plan on researching a few breeds etc before obtaining my own dog, But I just thought as there is a vast amount of different breeds belonging to you lovely people I would get a few opions
Best regards Jaseem
Hi Jaseem a rescue dog would be one option but it is not always possible to know their past history or suitability with children.
Staffordshire Bull terriers are very good with children, Boxers too, (but they can be a bit boisterious as you will no doubt find out when doing your research if you haven't done so already) .
Whatever breed you decide on it is a good idea to approach a breed club to see if they can supply you with a list of approved breeders who adhere to a code of ethics covering health testing and breeding practises.
Beware of 'back yard breeders' if the dog is to be around children a good temperament and careful socialising is very important.

Good luck with your search, and remember to keep clear of those 'Back yard breeders', I think you have a few over there in Northern Ireland..

So Jay, what does your alter ego think?

Or is she too busy having fun at the expense of Dogsey members? Members who thought she was a friend?

Anyone want to guess who topdog4 is?

Hint, someone who is on a temp ban.

Hint hint - someone who is now perm banned, for breaking one of our fundamental rules, no multiple accounts, esp at the expense of our members
