That sounds like your glands then. An infection elsewhere can make them swell up, usually nearby. Best go to the doc.

Just had my dad in law out of hospital with exactly the same issue.

His diagnosis was that a saliva gland was going a bit iffy.

Missus is a medic and her chat with the docs, plus some wikipaedia indicates that if its cancer, you wanna get it out pronto. Treatment sucks hard for being on the head. Dont piss around - get to a hospital, and get the damned thing removed pronto.

dont worrie to much hun, most of these end up being fatty lumps or cysts, my brother had two when he was younger but as we had young cousins who developed cancer they decided to opperate,,,they turned out to be fatty lumps, he has had more come and go,,,im sure its nowt to worrie about but best getting it checked anyway, x
