I was stupid enough to make my OH a batch before Christmas, since then I've had to make four dozen a week for him and his friends at work cos mine are better than the shops. I use half a teaspoon of mixed spice as well, makes them extra yummy

well i made some for breakfast - china got the ones that got a bit burnt/broken...she didnt mind! i only had a hadful of mixed fruit left in the cupboard so they arent as fruity as they should be

Will try the mixed spice though!

I read somewhere but cant remember where; that as few as six raisins can kill a fully grown Lab, so whenever I make them I make a special batch with out fruit for the furries

True, grapes are a no no, so I know dogs can't have them due to them containing sultanas, so they had to go without.
