I use my halti for short distances with Blue. Most of the time I walk him in places that he doesnt need to be on the lead.
Some boxers noses are too short for them as well, so basically you have to use your common sence.

I was thinking perhaps Haltis may not be as successful on dogs with a shorter muzzle!!! .I too had problems when I first put them on the dogs, my male Bailey would start walking then all of a sudden lift his front legs and try to get it off his face, thankfully this has now stopped, I put the puppies in Haltis for the first time the other day, they are now about 14 weeks old, they had a little fuss then that was it, I kept the haltis on them for about 2 hours, to get used to them and they are all fine, even went to sleep with them on

I use a halti on Teagan, but I use a double ended lead, so it also attatched to the collar.
I find I have more control this way, rather than just using a halti or a collar.
I can slow her down/hold her back with the collar, and direct her with the halti.

I have the ring in the halti and the ring in the halfchoke collar in the same "hook" on the lead, so that both are in the same hook of the leash....

I have better control this way than if it was only the halti...

Oh and its not on Luna, just on Bella.....

Oh thats the one. Thanks for the link and the pic

For a minute there I thought you ment the one that has straps around the leggs, and I really cant see that should be any better than a choke collar

But good thing I asked to see before starting a heated debate
