As I said dogs often 'Like' something, (your dog liking her ears rubbed/scratched etc) I don't think they 'Value' It !!

We as humans value friendship. To value something is to feel an emotion for something that you appreciate ! Dogs don't appreciate, it's a human emotion.

Dogs live in the now, and think in the now, not the future, they 'like' certain things, just as they 'like' certain forms of 'interaction' with us.

Ear rubbing/scratching, is a form of grooming.
