I look forward to hearing how she's doing
I`ve done a lot of fostering over the years and while they are treated as one of my own during their stay, I look at it as them being on holiday, the same as friends dogs which I look after when they are away :smt001
Each time I fostered in the past though, not knowing how long a dog may have stayed for, each time for me it was in the knowledge with eyes open that they `may` stay for good so I always looked on it as a possible new dog situation as far as preparation considerations and potential commitment prospects were concerned if you see what I mean.

I have always been thrilled for problem-free doglets go on to their forever home, and happy to have been part of that process of looking after them in the meantime, so while I miss all I have fostered over the years I know they went on to be happy and fulfilled with people who offered them wonderful lives

Those I have been a failed fosterer of, [ as in I adopted them myself ] are the ones for whom finding the right home is more difficult where they were more specialist cases either behaviourally or through disability.
People dont often realise that a disability of some sort does not automatically mean difficulty in terms of training, hence I adopted my deaf crew because I don`t consider deafness to be a reason to worry about in having a dog [ often much easier in a lot of ways in fact, but dont tell or everyone will want one ]

Cutie is deaf btw...hmmm

What a lovely dog. Well done I bet it must be really rewarding when you find a permanent home for them. Louie was the first rescue dog I have ever had and its been great to see how he's developed.
