I remember it so well Laura, and can't believe it's a whole year ago. There's no doubt that time's a great healer, but sometimes it seems to take an age before the pain eases. I, too, shed tears on seeing Barney having his last snooze on your bed. He looked so frail and it was definitely his time. The fact that you knew this too is something Barney is still thanking you for, and it's why he's still with you in spirit.

*HUGS*

They are beautiful photos. You never forget them or get over it. We lost our GSD to cancer just over a year ago and it it the hardest thing to accept. He was a lovely boy.

Sorry I meant Barney was lovely - it sounded confusing. Ours was a girl.

Nice wee tribute.... I'm sure he'll be smiling at ya.... or maybe he's chasing after my ole Jess at the bridge... As hard as it is to lose such a great friend, the fun times will shine through in your memories and you'll remember what a great lad he was xxxxx

What beautiful pictures and what a lovely Tribute to your beloved Barney, as Vicki said he looked so frail lying there Laura and it was time for him just as it was for my darling Ludmilla. Can't see through my tears to type anymore. Try to remember the good times, I am sure they are both running free and happy and waiting till we all meet again at the Bridge

Comforting cuddles Exx

Luz I am so sorry to hear about Barney, I have tears in my eyes looking at the pictures.

I can tell you loved each other very much and the pictures are so personal.
I know no words to ease the pain of losing your best friend but I do know how you feel, its been 4 years now since losing a 'Barney' of my own, a lovely black Lab.

I too feel like my Barney looks over me, as I have no doubt your Barney does for you.

He will be waiting for you and watching over you, although he is no longer here, trust me, they are never truely gone.

Big comforting hugs from me and Jess xxx
