My top 3 breeds are
1: Irish Setter
2: Golden Retriever
3: Flat coated Retriever

They're all happy, friendly and a little bit mad

It's hard to say just 3 though, I feel like I'm missing out so many!

Like BrandieSnap if I say just 3 I'm missing out thousands!

Ok well it would be:
1. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
(Fantatsic dogs)!

2. Cocker Spaniels (including American)
(Brilliant, Fun & Friendly dogs)

3. Giant Schnauzer
(Luv 'em)

Great replies guys...

1. Akitas (both types) because they are intelligent, proud, dignified and sensitive.

2. Staffs because they are such clowns, real characters and just so funny.

3. I think Labs because they are so cute, loyal and great companions.

1.English Springer Spaniel, totally goons but not a nasty bone. A breed i know i feel totally comfortable with them being i any situation.

2.Parsons Russells/Jack Russels, grouped together as they are very much the same! Loving to their owners yet fiery working dogs, a breed i am without at the minute..but will have another one day.

3.German Shepherds, truly amazing dogs. They capture me in..just the way they are!
*Irish Setter, barmy and love them and are jointed number three!

Dobermanns because they are gorgeous, loyal, loving, intelligent, funny, and full of energy and tireless.
Boxers for all the same reasons.
German short haired pointers for the same reasons too.

Mine are:
1 staffords extremely funny, filled full of character, they sometimes seem to think they are human!Intelligent but love acting thick!Their devotion love and loyality to their owner.

2) Springers,i just love this breed, always alert, ready to play, love getting their owners dirty wet and muddy, extremely clever, and most of all the way they working instinct kicks in when out in the fields and of course their loopy nature!

3)Border Terrier,
Great companions,gentle loving dogs.

Cavalier King Charles Spanials - Best two dogs I've ever owned.

Rottie - Highly intelligent and Loyal and loving

GSD - For the same reason as the Rottie thats why I have a crossbreed combining the two

Just three!!

Leonberger - first and foremost. They have the most fantastic loving temperament and the most soulful eyes that just suck you in.

Any other giant breed. Love em all

Joint third - Brown dobes and Gordon Setter simply on looks alone (I'm very superficial!!)

Ok, this is a tough one for me, I would say,
JOINT 1 + 2 - GSD because they are wonderful, so loyal and soppy and just so much fun to have! And dalmatians because I've always had them, and they're SOOOOO loving! (But they are very very hard work!)

3. Staffies.....I will have one eventually, they're such a beautiful breed!!!!

There are so many wonderful breeds that I would love to have one day! Its so hard to pick just three! Good thread though!
