Oh that's just awful, truly awful, and I'm so sorry you had to share this awful experience with them. That poor little boy, such a terrible shame, I'd have cried buckets too. You must have held up well throughout the whole situation by the sounds of it, and I'm sure they appreciated all your help. You were a true star yesterday, I hope it doesn't dwell on your mind too much, as I know how these things do.

How awful for you and everyone concerned. As the others have said you did everything you could to help and I'm sure the poor people will be eternally grateful to you for that. It just shows what a wonderful, kind, caring person you are, many would have just driven past.

you stopped and helped as much as you could you should be proud of yourself.
you did your best for the little man no one could have done more i hope the boy can understand what happened and remember the better times he had with the dog.

What a dreadful thing to happen, so sad for all concerned
:0(
...but I am so glad you were there with the little dog Shona, although it must have been distressing for you it is good to know the little dog was able to receive your act of kindness as he slipped away...

My heart goes out to you Shona and the families concerned. Its a tragedy at any time of the year, but you showed courage and strength when others would have crumbled. Well Done! As you have described, there was nothing more you could have done for the dog and I doubt if a vet attended immediately afterwards, they wouldn't have been able to do much more either.

*sending hugs to you xx

as everyone else has said, you came along and helped them when they were all too shocked to know what to do.
You stayed with the poor dog during his final moments so he wasn't on his own, what more could anyone have done?

What a dreadful thing to have happened, let alone witnessed. Whatever the outcome you definately helped make a difference during this horrific ordeal. That must have been terribly distressing.

So, so sad. Sounds like you did all you possibly could. You gave that lil dog comforts at a time he would of most needed it, and only you are to thank for that.
R.I.P lil one xxxx

What an awful thing to happen and even worse when it is Christmas time Shona, you did all you could to help but I know that won't lessen the pain and shock any. I really feel for the little dog, his poor owner and the driver too - very sad all round
