Taking them out in the cold and wet does not bother me, cos i find it tends to be the more responsable owners out in weather like that therefore better behaved dogs i meet.

Extra dust bunnies around the house (esp now my dyson has died and I can't get a new vacuum till the new year!!).

The smell (Willow is fine but Archie STINKS!)

Cleaning up the poo. (A common dislike I see!)

But dispite all this I still love having them!!

Apart from the fact they aren't with us long enough, it has to be picking up poo!

The fact that on the broader scale, they are with us such a short time..and it's even shorter if they do not get to the 'average life expectancy'-sad
Another would be..when they select to go swimming in the dirtiest part of the river..and cover you in water, allways on the coldest day too so the water CUTS you!

Things I dislike about owning dogs:

They've turned me into a blubbering wreck at the first sign of anything being wrong. I'm a strong person and can handle anything that is thrown at me, except when it involves the dogs.

Also, as others have said, the loss of a much loved companion - that really rips your heart out.:smt022

I don't really mind the mud and the poo, find it quite theraputic picking up and scrubbing.

Despite what I joke about with you guys, I wouldn't swap them for the world and hope that there is never a time when I don't have dogs in my life.

Definitely the short life span, but so worth it otherwise. I can even live with picking up the poo...although would prefer not to have that task
