I got Missy In January at 18 months old. She was a pure nutcase then , wanting to jump all over people ALL the time , even out in the street. It is all friendly in her way but as someone else said , not everyone appreciates a " Staffie welcome" . I took her to training classes , and I also used to go and stand outside the doorway of my local Tescos , just so that she would meet loads of people and learn that not everyone wants to say hello . She calmed down a little bit after that , but Staffies are an energetic breed . I think that's why so many end up in rescue because people get fed up with the boisterous , playful puppy who , like Peter Pan , never grows up. Missy , when she's not sleeping , is constantly attention seeking . I have found that the best way to deal with this is to ignore her ,( not easy when she climbs up to eye level to make me look at her , or when she starts picking things up like the cup I've just had tea in , or a box of tissues , or even when she throws one of her toys at me ). I mean , right now she's crying because she wants to go to bed and I'm not ready yet ! I hope you work things out with Otis. Most importantly , don't get stressed out as there will be a way around .
