She is just letting you know she will always be there by your side,but also letting you know she is happy and out of pain.
I use to hear Max when his claws use to tap against the skirting board in his sleep when he was running.It has gone now but I always feel he is around keeping an eye on things.

I've heard people talking about this sort of thing a few times... enough for me to think that they aren't just imagining things because they miss their dog, but there's something in it...
