Names - what a headache!

I was at it for months then settle on Grace out of desperation! I was lucky in that the breeder let me choose my own kennel name for her so the choice was easy (Regalayr Sieglinde at Volsung since there was only one volsung woman) but the pet name was a nightmare!

Some of the choices post Grace, if they help, were Lotte (wish I had gone for that one now!), Inge, Elke, Dora (was near to my late bitch Doris) and I can't remember the others! I'll root them out.

Now Doris was a fantastic name but I can't take any credit for that as she came with it 13 months old (she was a show reject). I can remember thinking at the time how embarassing it would be yelling Doris but I can truly say, she was a total Doris .

I like names which aren't common but not outlandish. I also quite like names you can shorten so when they are misbehaving you can use the full name - Fred was always Frederick when he was naughty

Hmmm strangly I had not considered Norman not sure why but now you mention it it's catchy isn't it?
I like Doris, Annie, Bet, Millie but they are also neighbours and family - shame though. Also like Bella butBel is to close to Sal
Kizzy is growing on me, sure the name will come when I SEE her.

Odd that you mentioned Doris and Annie together as Doris' mum was called Annie!

Any particular themes that you like? I always go down the operatic route but you could have a mythology name etc.?

I had that problem when I got my last black girl. All my girls have flower names but I couldn't think of any black flowers so in the end she was called Treacle.
