Ours love ice cubes - I make a similar concoction to what Louise has described, using anything from Pilchards (in tomato sauce ) to blood from liver etc. The dogs love it and it helps keep them cool I also add ordinary ice cubes to their water bowls and my youngest goes round and fishes them out to eat Some dogs can get slightly upset stomachs if they eat too much ice, but it has never been a problem for us. I also feed raw, so they are getting their food either frozen (the older two) or partly frozen (the youngest).

I've just given Bongo and Meg their lollies, and they must be enjoying them because even Meg (aka Hound of the Baskervilles) has gone quiet!

Ours get ice cubes. And when we go to the pub we give them the ice cubes out of our drinks! (I'm sure they're supposed to be to keep our drinks cool!)

Nothing can earn you doggy love like an ice cube on a hot day!

Mine help themselves to ice cubes as we have one of the fridge/freezers that have the ice cube thing on the door. We didn't teach them to do it, they just watched us! Never done mine any harm either.

Hi All

Whenever any of us go to the freezer the dogs come running. They think the freezer is just for them with the ice cubes. They all play football with the cubes first. I must put some treats into them next time great idea.

Take care
Janet
