well a couple of months ago i was talking to a crowd of people with dogs in the park and a guy with 2 smallish adult black dobermanns said what breed is your dog is it a german shorthaired pointer?. Errrr gobsmacked and totally bewildered said "erm he is the same as yours just a different colour" He then went on to tell me all the reasons that he couldn't possibly be a dobermann. What are some people on?

That is hilarious. I used to walk a little mixed breed bitch for a friend while she was looking after her new baby and this bitch was very pretty, like a tiny 14 inch high Border Collie and very feminine. People were forever asking what breed she was ( her dam was a JRT but that is all we knew) that in the end I made up a breed, the 'Variegated Derbyshire Truffle Hound' and you would be amazed at the number of people who fell for it, I made up a whole speil about the history and charactersitics af the breed just to break up the monotony of answering the same question half a dozen times a day.
