Yes I don't think they are meant to have skin problems - probably just as much as any other dog really because any breed of dog can have skin problems. Although the young female vet I took Benji to when he was 17 weeks old and had first started scratching did say 'Fluffy white dogs are prone to skin problems' although turned out she was wrong when she diagnosed him with skin and allergy problems when it turned out to be sarcoptic mange and easily treated.

Sometimes they can get an irritation called a hot spot on the skin but that is normally either due to the wrong food (colourings, additives) and some food with beef tend to do this as well.
The only hot spot mine have had is through a flea bite, they had the flea stuff on them anyway but they were allrgic to the saliva.
Other than that I have had no problems at all.
