Could somebody on here please explain to me which five month old puppy of any breed doesn't cause disruption and isn't lively???

Im sorry but i lost my cool and swore at the bloke telling him exactly what i though of his daughter. Not only that but is there really vets out there that will pts a healthy puppy just because somebody can't cope ???

And more to the point WHO was the vet that put a 5MT old pup TO SLEEP.................for being " to lively""

I did try to ask him that Jackie, but i think i had already gone too far by swearing at him. With hindsight i should have kept my cool and tried to find that info out.But hindsight is a wonderful thing and as i said i lost my temper and got nowhere.

I cant believe that a vet willingly destroyed a perfectly healthy puppy-i think the bloke was exagerating his story somewhat! Vets dont needlessly put animals to sleep cause they know there are rescue centres about which they sometimes have ties with.

I just hope you are right Steve. It breaks my heart to think that this sort of thing goes on.I mean i know people can be down right cruel, but i really wouldn't expect somebody claiming to be a proffesional in their chosen field ie the vet to act in this way.As you say there are plenty of rescue centres around. The question is,what happens when they are all full.Do the vets make this horrible ultimate sacrifice?

We get dogs from that situation coming to the kennels I work at.

Only the other week someone had taken a staffy to be put down, cos he was badly fighting with his Dad, and they had a small child, who liked to get near the dogs.
The vet refused, and rang us (kennels/Staffy rescue), and his owners brought him to us. They paid a donation (the same it would have cost to put him to sleep), and they went away happy - knowing he would get a good home.
They just hadn't realised that he could be rehomed. They weren't bad people.

It saddens me to say that this doesnt supprise me! I applied to become an rspca inspector and as part of the process had to answer a questionnaire one of the questions being, 'do you feel with training you would be able to put a healthy animal to sleep?' I answered no which I think is why i didnt get any further, the rspca euthanise healthy animals on a regular basis due to limited space this is not something I want any part in!
