Okay Leo I will do it on a thread of his own though, this one belongs to Leslie.
Leslie I think we're all St Francis' when we love our animals as much as what you obviously do! Dont worry, if the vet says she's strong enough she will recover fine. Do what's right for your little girl.

we all do leslie..... the fur babies.lol
you have to do what you think is right if she needs the op to give her a pain free hip and years to come just think of it as a gift.
i'm sure you will make the right choice and the vet knows the problems she has but the fat lumps won't make any difference.
theres nothing worse than a dog in pain esp when that dog is your baby.

A woman after my own heart Leslie, yes I would do anything for my dogs.
I stood infront of an on-coming car to protect Barney once when he followed me across the road after breaking away from my friend to follow me to the loo! I had no fear at all. Only when I got to the loo "with Barney" did I start to shake at what I had just done. I even had the audacity to shout at the woman in the car!

Leo,

You're so right that we all are crazy about our dogs. If we weren't,
we wouldn't be on here. I'm glad to finally meet people who love their
dogs as much as I do. I see so many cases around here of not just
abuse, but also neglect. People get dogs and then just tie them up in
their yards and basically forget about them until it's time to bring them in.
Every night after work and ALL weekend, my buddy and I are attached at
the hip. I don't like to go anywhere without her.

As far as her hips go, they're fine now. I've got her on different meds,
and she runs around and jumps up on my bed, and takes long walks with me.
I'm just afraid that if I don't have the surgery done she will eventually be
crippled. I am so confused.

Thanks Jen! I appreciate it. I'll tell Luck that the boys are pulling for
her.

Luz,

That's great. I would totally do that too. We are like momma bears with
cubs, aren't we? I am so glad nothing happened to Barney. He looks like
such a sweetie.
I would much rather get hit bya car than have her hit. I would sell a kidney if I didn't have money for the surgery. And if anyone DARED to try to hurt her, I would rip their heart out. She is my heart and my life.

When you have so much love for them Leslie its amazing how much strength the dog gets from you.
If you dont mind me posting a pic of him I can post one of Barney taken at the weekend on your thread? It doesnt show his missing leg but does show his age I think.

I am sure that Leslie would appreciate a 'living proof' photograph of how well Barney has recovered from such major surgery (and I wouldn't mind seeing him either )
