Sorry in advance, couldn't resist.

www.mepis.com

Ditch Windoze and all that spyware/virus headache. Get a proper operating system. Been using it exclusively on my dual boot PC for a while now and haven't found anything that I need it to do that it can't, with a bit of fiddling.

I suppose you'd need to be reasonably computer literate to want to give it a go as installing a whole new O/S can be scary, but I've found it worth it. Especially because I can laugh smugly at all the Windows security alerts.

Google these and they should come up but free products that have helped me are:

Ad-Aware
Avast! Anti Virus
Spybot Search and Destroy
NetVeda firewall.

All good products that make my computer run in tune!

I uaw Panda Antivirus scan, you connect to the internet at www.PandaSoftware.co.uk and you download a small file ( lastest info on viruses) then it does a scan of your PC, it picks up far more problems than any of the other products, well IMO. If it finds anything suspicious it sends a copy of it to there labs and they email you back with a verdict on the file and if it is a virus a way to make it safe.

Very good in my opion.

Does anyone know if any of these will work for a Mac, running either OSX Panther or OSX Tiger

The Norton disc I have is of an age which means that it will work only with OS 9.1
