Whatever it turns out to be don't worry too much. Modern veterinary treatments can work wonders. Even though my dog got arthritis relatively young, as soon as he started on the medication it never ever troubled him again. Same for my old dog now: before medication she was so stiff one morning I thought she'd had a stroke because she couldn't stand, but within days of starting metacam she was her old self again and runs around like a puppy now (although I am still careful not to tire her too much in cold weather).

Apparently the snapped cruciate ligament causes clicking because without the ligament holding things in place, the bones can move over each other in a way they shouldn't normally, which causes the clicking.

Good luck with whatever it turns out to be. I'm sure the vet will sort it out, whatever it is.

I promise Ill try! I am worse than useless on the computer, but with the help of my daughter who is coming home next weekend I will be able to do it... shes a star on the computer, unlike her Mom I havent even worked out yet how to look up members photos. I would love to see some of Ozzy.. I love Rotties and had a beautiful boy called Max.

It must be horrible to see your dog limping and unable to enjoy himself
I hope the vet can give you answers and help him recover. Fingers crossed for you.
