My OH spent a better part of his youth in Sudan, and has been to the area near the red sea similar to the film, and 15 years later he's still surprised at how many people in the developed parts of the world don't realise how much they take for granted.

Am I right in thinking there are bigger tourist resorts near there?

if I'm right a friend at work was leaving for there yesterday. She was really excited and wouldn't shut up about it all week
