My friend has one, and he owns a big GSD, who fits in with ease

You could fit a Cain sized dog easily in most of the larger hatchbacks to be honest.

I prefer VW Golfs out of all the larger hatchbacks. I can fit my two larger dogs in the back of one.

I have a 1998 Almera and love it. Our dog travels on the back seat with a harness so we don't have the boot set up, but you'd have no trouble with a big dog in there. My car belonged to my grandad previously and he used to cart a labXdobie around in there easily enough.

For a car which is as old as it is it's been really good to us. It cost £200 last MOT and will probably cost the same again in April, but that doesn't seem too bad to me considering I really overwork it. It's been to Scotland and back from Devon a few times, and we moved from Plymouth to Yorkshire in it this year.

Thanks Karly for those links, that pic was really helpful

Thanks everyone else, seems like really good feedback Murf, I did spot one with parking sensors and thought that would be a good idea. I was just out walking Cain and spotted an Almera so had a good nosey at the boot, I think he will fit. Although I was waiting for the owner to come out and ask if I was thinking of stealing their car

I'm quite excited at the prospect of a new car. While I love my clapped out old Micra, suddenly the world of power steering, aircon and electric windows beckon and it's brilliant! I would love to get a dog guard and hatchbag and have the boot set up properly

I'm gonna go car shopping on Saturday.

My dad had one & the boot area was very generous & such lovely comfy car to drive.

I swopped last year from Micra (my 2nd) to a Note & its fab. Plenty room with back seats down for two Boxers & more room. I love the Note & will buy another when time comes & surprisingly economical - i didnt notice much difference in fuel from the MIcra to the Note

My granpa has one and has never had a problem with it. I do like Nissans.

Yes, you could easily fit a big dog like Cain in the boot without a problem.

I've driven it and I like it.

I can even park it without sensors! Murf!

ETA: Relative has a Nissan Note and it's quite roomy too. I like them as well.

Look what I just bought...........

Only downside is that they don't seem to sell hatchbags in this model

Maybe check out Rhino boot liners? Or Hatchbag would probably make a custom one. One of the purpose-made rubber boot liners might help protect the bottom for now, in the case of soggy dog.
