Poor boy, that looked so painful. I am glad to see he has made a fantastic recovery.

Poor poor lad, and also you because it is heartbreaking when one's dog suffers from this sort of condition. The before pictures bring tears to one's eyes, but he has made such a good recovery hasn't he..........well done you for persevering.

Right now I have a foster Boston terrier who has suffered badly from demodectic mange. The skin on his legs have lichenified. The fur is now growing back, but mostly sparsely. What is your secret? How did he get from so bad to so good?

Well here goes. The following is what I used on Coles:

1. Bath 3 times a week in malaseb shampoo (for skin infection & hotspots) He still has 3 baths a week in this shampoo. Alternative I used to use is Episoothe shampoo (Very good for itchy dog).

2. Oral medication for mites. Ongoing treatment.

3. Dermacton spray (relieves itching & promotes hair re-growth) Still using - good to relieve his itchy skin due to dust mite allergy. Available at the following site:

http://www.aromesse.com/skin-problem...og-canine.html

4. Fish4dogs salmon oil everyday

5. Hypoallergenic diet containing fish and potato.

He is also having immunotherapy treatment for his allergies.

I hope this helps your boston terrier.

Oh my goodness! That looks just awful for your poor lad.

I'm so happy that the "after" photos show him at full recovery - bless him.

Such a sweetie-pie!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Coles is like a different dog now. He's started wanting to play again. I keep looking at the before and after pics of him and I can't get over how much better he looks and his coat is shinning!

Oh your poor dog, or should I say your lucky dog for having you as an owner
What a heartbreaking condition and how awful that the vets didn't correctly diagnose sooner. You have done a fantastic job bringing him back to health. He looks really fab now - well done
