Beware of people who like the idea of a Malamute because they look so wonderful, but don't understand the breed. And good luck, a tough decision to have to make.

Is it really £5000 to fly a dog to Australia?! I bought a dog back from Vietnam and the flight itself was only around £500. Admittedly I had to spend a further £3000 on quarantine fees, but isn't Australia on the pet passport scheme now? I can't imagine it would cost anywhere near £5000 for a flight and a passport. Just mentioning, in case money was the main reason you couldn't take him. Also, if he has a pet passport, you could avoid the kennels. Understand your concerns about the heat.

Good luck whatever you do, hard decision.

Yes unfortunately we were quoted £5000 as he would require the largest crate. More than are air fare as a family. Then the pet passport was extra.
When you look on the site you think £3000 but when you get to the nitty gritty it turns out loads more. Weve had more than one quote too! He is 43 kilos of pure Mally We know the laws have changed but the air fare hasn't

Really! I am interested I can offer him a loving home! I will be in most of the day and have Plenty of time to spend with him. And I am moving to a big house with a good sized secure garden and loads of fields to walk him in. I have tried to pm you but I can't! I am going to do a lot of research on the breed and talk to breeding associations and some of my hubby's mates have malmutes and huskies. Try and pm me if you can I don't know why it's not working

You need to have 20 posts or more before can send PMs. As you are both new members, neither of you have posted enough messages yet to activate the PM function.
