It's the same old story each time. I've found that 99% of people think just because their dog is friendly, bouncy (a polite word for ill mannered!) and just loves to say hello and join in that every other dog should be the same and if they arent then they are aggressive or should be kept on a lead.

It's usually the people who have no control over their own dogs who refuse to see past their little darlings angelic face, blaming everybody's else's dog for their own shortcomings in the training department.

She's obviously the one with the problem Steph, not right in the head methinks!

angry part of me wants to retaliate with what part of YOUR dog ran to him don't you understand

Hmm... next time you get one of these people, just ask them what they would do if someone ran up to them and sniffed their backside.

I really do not understand people who expect all dogs to like all other dogs. I bet they don't like everyone they meet.

I said this to someone once!

We had a lady with a (fully-grown) Jack-Russell pup say she was going to report our dogs as they started growling at her puppy as it would not leave them alone and kept trying to mount Parker and wouldn't move its nose off Izzy's bottom. Izzy was very uncomfortable and kept looking to Jamie as if to say "sort him out Dad please!" He grabbed the dog's collar in the end and the woman had to come over and put it on a lead and she wasn't happy!

People sometimes think that their dog has the right to do what it likes to other dogs and they should just put up with it and lump it but that's not the way it works.

I did say to Jamie that he should go over and molest this woman and if she complained or tried to defend herself say he was reporting her to the police!

I actually agree with that, it frustrates me as what I see (Bruce likes to be ignored by other dogs) other people see that as he is not socialised, or shouldn't be out then Like you say I wouldnt like someone running into me and invading my space/jumping over me

I had this all the time with Cherry sadly. She had 2 obedience trophies but was kept on a lead because she had issues with large, unfamiliar dogs. I used to get people let their dogs charge up to her and try and bounce all over her and then the owners would have a go at me and say I shouldn't bring her out if she was scared of other dogs! I would reply-no you should have your dog better trained so it is not charging at mine from the other side of the park!
