I always lock the doors whether it's just me or the dogs are in as well.

I nearly always lock the doors anyway, even on my own, and put childlock on when the dogs are in the back (as the locks undo if the handle is pulled from the inside). I've got a tailgate guard on its way though, and the interior guard is positioned to block access to the rear door handles now

Yep, I lock the doors, even though Hen is in a cage, I even do it when I'm on my own, just incase anyone dives in if I'm sat at traffic lights

I don't lock the doors - reason being my parents live on a riverbank (literally) and there've been a number of instances of people going off the road into the river... hence we all have a nice mild terror of going in with the doors locked to a watery (and sewery cos I've seen the state of the water) grave. Generally in the rust-wagon I drive during the week - it's only the driver's door unlocked anyway since such fripperies as central locking were a glimmer in a designer's eye when that hunk o' junk was built.

Then you better hope the frame didn't distort & cause the doors to stick

& no I don't lock the doors - but then he's normally on the back seat which doesn't have one.

I always lock the doors whenever I'm driving, I can't be the only one with a car where the doors unlock automatically on impact. My dogs are sandwiched between a dog guard and a tailgate guard anyway.

The stats where people are injured or killed BECAUSE they are locked in the car are infinitesimal.

Doors locked means you cannot be carjacked and
cannot have your purse etc stolen at lights both of which are FAR more likely than being burned alive or drowned in a locked car.

But we all make our own decisions.......
