The new assessment procedure (been up and running for a couple of years now) for the APDT is excellent and tests knowledge as well as practical skills. Also, for those running their own classes, they have now introduced their own tests that trainers can opt to run.

The library, although an optional extra, is quite comprehensive and has a range of books, DVDs and videos all for the price of postage.

The Code of Practice is very clear that only kind, fair and effective methods are employed by their trainers and only trainers who agree and use this ethos in their training will be accepted.

They do have quite a good infrastructure but there are a lot of restrictions which would not suit some people.
