OMG! That's like saying he has to rehome him because he has too much hair! How could this come as a surprise?

Whoever bred this boy and sold him to a pet shop should be shot, the owners are just ignorant (not meant in a pejorative way, just mean lack of knowledge) the breeder is reprehensible.

How sad for both dogs and the owners Maybe now the husky'll be kept under control (assuming it's not put to sleep) but it shouldn't take something like this to make people see sense.

Something similar happened where I used to live although it wasn't an out of control dog, just a terrible accident. A pekingese used to play with much larger dogs and one day one of them stepped on him while running and broke his back. The Peke had to be put to sleep. He was a lovely little dog and none of us had given his size a thought when he was playing with our larger dogs

Out of interest, when I went to crufts (a good six years ago) , I must admit I was surprised at how small the Husky was. However, since then, the ones I have seen out and about (and there have been a good few), have been much bigger. Do you think it is just a case of breeding for the wrong reasons? And do you think the smaller ones are a minority? Even though that is perhaps how they 'should' be sized?

Whether killed intentionally or not I cannot imagine how the owner of the yorkie is feeling. It must have been terrible for them.

I didn't realise you could still buy pups from pet shops? How awful

Ben was just like this husky when we first took him on. We have done wonders with him, no credit to us, mainly to Tai for his steadying influence, Ben is now really quite a delightful dog, if a little naughty! I just hope this poor husky ends up in the type of home that he clearly needs.

...a well bred sibe is never big or chunky, leggy sometimes yes...but these big sibes u see are usually not quality sibes, more often than not they are from byb.

eta.. they are often advertised as big and chunky...as a selling point its not what a sibe should be..have a look at the standard

Pet shops... Dont get me started on them.

Poor yorkie owner, but also poor siberian husky.. Looks like he will now be likely doomed to either euthanasia if the council wardens deem him aggressive, or a life wearing a muzzle whilst out.

People really need to do their research before they take on any breed of dog, not just huskies. I totally agree that accidents can happen, just like with people. However, if the owner read and researched the breed, and perfected his training and handling skills this may have been prevented.

Such a shame Poor little yorkie. I hope it works out well for the huskie...

So sad, especially for the owners of the Yorkie.

Interesting to read the discussion of the size of Huskies. A few weeks ago in our local park a man had a Labrador and a Husky - my dog was playing with them both and the Husky was huge.
He was larger than GSDs I see regularly at this park and they are all big.
[/I][/B] Beautiful dog though.

Re pet shops - there is one not that far from us and I know a family who got their Spaniel from it. This shop has about twenty different breeds for sale at any given time, with new dogs arriving every week. The shop has been there for years. The spaniel had health problems from day one and is extremely manic. I couldn't believe this family actually got a dog from there but the problem is, the shop makes it all so easy - in the short term...

It angers me to think that some people who own a large dogs dont think its nessersery to train their dog in any way and then are somehow suprised when stuff like this happens -.-
