hi, thanks for the suggestions but no its not possible that he has eaten any rat poison at all.His leg has gone down quite alot today and is almost back to normal size and the bruising is not as vivid. [I] thought about the clotting aspect and thought it could be vonwillibrands disease (which is a blood factor this is lacking thus causing exsessive bleeding but he has been castrated and had a hernia operation with no ill side effects at all, so that rules that disease out.
thank you for all the concern its nice to know others are thinking about him as well. Ill let you know how he goes on.
thanks

hi, to everyone who replied to my post. My shepherd thor is a lot better. He is on another course of anti biotics just to be sure , but the swelling has gone from his leg and the bruising and lump on his neck are both getting smaller by the day, so fingers crossed.Thank you for all the concern and help
clare
