What is even better is that this actually happens! I know a couple of cases. One was an emaciated husky, kept in a back yard all the time, whose owner would go out and throw things at him. I went up there one day and asked why her dog was so thin - she said she`d taken him to the vet, and I didn`t believe it, so I was working out what to do when he was stolen.
I saw him several weeks later, looking really well, out for a walk in a different area. Did I let on ? What do you think!

Thank you, but there was no need to thank me.

I drove for 5 hours in the middle of the night to get her, and she spent the first 5 miles of the homeward journey in the boot "just in case" we were seen.......

She never looked back after that and spent the next 11 years living a life of luxury

Best thing I ever did, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

well done Vicky.
and..... I did it too when I was about 12/13 years old. me and a friend kept ponies on a local farm, there where these 2 toy poodles about a year old, Penny and Tuppence, that were always tied up out side with no shelter and hardly any food or water. one night before we left the farm we stole them and took 1 each home with us and said we found them wandering the streets. we had to plead with our parents not to take them to the rspca or police and in the end had to come clean. when we told them the awful conditions they were kept in they agreed not to say anything, but said if the police got involved then we would have to own up. the farm owner knew it was someone from the farm and said she was going to call them, but she never did. and the 2 dogs lived to the grand old age of 10 and 11 we kept Penny btw

i agree, its great when people do that to save an animal. i feel lucky that i have never had to see a dog in such conditions to be in that position, but i think my heart would rule me and i would do that same.
