I read his posts. He uses a lot of different techniques. Someone jumped on the fact that he mentioned using it and went to town with it. I think it's irresponsible to be warned off him as you don't know me or my needs, and you clearly don't know him. I also think that should be up to me to decide, as I am seeking him out, not you. As an owner one needs to work with the trainer to decide the best method of training for the animal in question. I personally have never or would never use one whether a trainer recommended it or not. As an adult I can make an informed decision and will work with him to come up with the best solutions for my animals. I have been around dogs my entire life, breed them, showed them, rescued them, and worked them. I've actually seen e-collars work, not on pets, but working sled dogs and fishing dogs and only with a professional who knew what he was doing. Again, I wouldn't advocate it as there are thousands of alternatives. I would appreciate however, if those who disagree with e-collars keep their evangelising to themselves, or to forum threads that specifically address the issue. Trying to discourage a man from performing in his living because you disagree with one statement he made, well again, I am seeking his help for my personal situation, you do what you like with yours.
