I think she is really confused, she is still taking food and hiding it, either in her bed, behind the settee, even found her digging holes in the garden trying to bury a sausage. She is SO HUGE with milk, she looks so sad and I haven't a clue what to do to help her. My vet said to try and get her back to normal, no pampering, no feeling her tummy etc. but she's crying all the time and I just can't leave her

So if anybody can give me any suggestions on what to try I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I'm sure I heard on another board that Raspberry Leaf tablets were very good for helping bitches with phantom pregnancies, although it's not a phantom with your girl, maybe try and find out if it would help her?

So sorry CC

Harsh as it sounds, the only real "treatment" is to get things back to normal asap. Lots of exercise to take her mind off - perhaps a good wash/change of her bedding and a bath might help to remove any associated smells. You could also try Bach's Rescue Remedy for both of you - it calms nerves in both horses and humans so must be good for dogs. Good luck.

A good point Chloe, I've heard Rescue Remedy can work very well for dogs.

Where would you buy this? Both the Rescue Remedy and the reaspberry leaf tablets. My Luna is having a phantom pregnancy and I would like to calm her if I can.

Any good health food shop would stock both, and I know "Boots" the chemist sell the full range of Bach Flower Remedys, including Rescue Remedy.

Good Luck
