Many hugs, you must be feeling really scared and worried for your boy.
My large munsterlander was diagnosed with severe hip displasia at 9 months old, a miss-placed bladder and spondylosis at 18 months. The vet gave her a projected life expectancy of 4 to 5 yrs. I am happy to report that she lived a full and happy life of 15 yrs!
We kept her weight low, fed her mostly raw ( i followed barf at the time). She had hydrotherapy for a few years as well as chiropractic treatments when we could afford them and these really helped her pain management. Occasionally she required assistance with pain meds but we found that she did better if we stayed clear of them long term. Supplements we used were fish oils and joint supplements like green lipped mussel extract.
Best of luck. I hope the outcome is as good for your baby.
