Ahh OK, but fostering is fatal, it almost always turns into rehoming! Best of luck.

I'm a one dog girl and I know I'd be incredibly nervous about taking on a second, its a big step, you don't want the first upset and I would worry about size of house (well, I wouldn't in my new one!)

I hope your nervousness turns out completely unfounded and Dave is a great fit. *hugs*

Thanks for all your good wishes

My OH collected Dave this morning and when they arrived i took him and Kym out for a walk together and back into the house together and out into the garden. They have been fine with each other - in fact they don't really take much notice of each other ! - hope i'm not speaking too soon, i know its only been a couple of hours.

They are both flaked out on my lounge floor at the moment in true greyhound style - if it continues like this it should be a doddle !

My parents have me him already - i was a bit worried about what they'd say but tbh they didn't seem that surprised - they think i turning into an animal hoarder ! - it must be my age....

Fabulous!!
Well done to you on taking him on as a foster. Your help will ease him into in house living and feedback will prove invaluable to the rescue and potential owners.

I'm pleased to hear his first day went well. Do keep us posted please!

Don't hold your breath for the photos - i'm hopeless at technical things but i'll have a try!

He is perfect indoors, a bit in your face but apart from that ok - had a few growls and barks at Kym but nothing serious. I am doing everything with her first before him - this is what i have been advised to do by the people that rescued him.

He does have one problem though - other non pointy dogs, he seems to be ok with large dogs but little terrier types he barks at and lunges (i walk him muzzled/on lead) - i was warned about it. They seem to think its where he hasn't been socialised with any other dogs apart from greys. Its very difficult as my girl is great with all dogs, never had a problem with her so i am not used to this behaviour and tbh i don't like it much. I feel i want to walk him where there are not many other dogs about but thats not confronting the problem. It amazes me though the amount of people that still let their dogs run up to him - it makes life difficult. I had a idea of spraying him with water when he starts barking but not sure if this is the right thing to do ?

I would use his favourite treats (once you find out what they are) and when he barks and lunges, get his attention with one of those...... I hate spray bottles personally.....

When he's quiet, let him have the treat

Good luck!
