She was spinning round on the lead and bouncing up and down loads when we first got there, but by the time she was in her last class she was able to walk round the ring withouth trying to get to the other dogs in her class and the other dogs along the ringside. She was also sitting by dogs ! Such an improvement, she got to say hi to some of course..but only when we said it was okay and the rest of the time she got tickles and hotdogs. They are great environments aren't they? Also found she blanks horses..totally. I thought she did from her previous meetings, but horses just don't register on her radar!

brilliant to hear that she is heading in the right direction with her socialising too. my collie was an anti-social nightmare when i first got him and when i see him letting other dogs sniff him now it makes me so happy. who'd have thought bottom sniffing could mean so much!

oh and are there any photos?
Awww...bless your collie. Tango is soooooo sociable it's her downfall. She has no social graces going on, she just bounces on them and she sounds ferocious. It's the only time she makes noise. She really does sound scary! It is just her playing though as she does it with Cosmo. Dogs will either run away (oh thje joy of chase games though... ) have a go...or immediately understand she's up for a game. We met a Labradoodle last week who legged it away from her, but she was onlead (he was off) they said hello a couple of times...and you could see the change in his attitude..he sort of went 'ooo actually you might be fun missus!' Bless. I do feel for her. I think she has been so used to being hyped up when she sees other dogs though, as she was kennelled alone.
It's all early days and small steps but I was thrilled with her.

Thanks,I hope maybe one day we will be able to take her along without the bouncing up and down and madness...but if we can't that's fine too as long as she does calm down once there.

I love fun dog shows they are so great for training dogs at!
Thanks Tassle. We were thrilled yesterday because she really is a bouncy madam. It's funny because in the house she is a couch potato...but when out....
People kept asking how old our puppy was, meaning her...thats the sort of way she behaves...that 7 month old puppy madness time! Cosmo looks sensible next to her (despite his barking when he gets bored or wants more hotdog...naughty muppet)

Yes ...she is...it's lovely to see.
It's funny as in the rescue class they asked about her so I was telling them she hadn't been in a house before the day we brought her home etc...and she does her droopy face...her 'look at me I'm a rescue face...would you stroke me please?' it's like she knows....she does it so well!!!!

You know what Pidgey we have entered far more classes than we have ever won over the years...but it doesn't matter a bit. They are just a bit of fun. I always sign up for loads of the classes...because I always go to ones at charity events so it's a fun way of giving. It's also such a good laugh and you meet such nice people and their dogs.

Some people do take it a bit seriously though...
There was a lady yesterday who had trained her dog to wag it's tail...which was great...but the dog wasn't exactly looking like it wanted to wag it's tail if you see what I mean...no fun or enthusiasm. I jokingly said (I was laughing..) 'isn't it cheating training them to wag their tails for classes like this?' (I was JOKING and laughing) and she was snotty. I was with Tango who thought she was still in the Best Rescue class and was sitting looking at me with her dopey 'are you going to feed me...really?' eyes!!!! She wagged her tail a little...but honestly..she was pitiful and I had also just pointed that out to the lady...she then started to eat horse poop (Tango not the lady!!!) It was laughable having Tango in that class...but good training and she enjoyed her snacks!
In the main though they are LOADS of fun!

Thanks. It's a family effort...and in all honesty Cosmo has to take a lot of the praise as she follows his lead in many situations.

I will take pics later..promise!
