Thank you very much everyone.
The vets phoned and spoke to Clive a while back and said that he was coming round just fine, he's had the stitches in his ears and that we can pick him up at 5ish, as planned.
I am paranoid about anaesthetics anyway, since losing a 2 year old apparently healthy setter following a sedative, half the battle is knowing he has got through that bit, then next step is to get him better and hope and pray that it hasn't effected his attitude towards other dogs when we meet them in future.
I know it wasn't my fault, it was just the way the conversation went, the woman started trying to twist things, she said he dog hadn't done it before and I said to her that she had just told me he only attacks dogs that are on leads, she then said that she didn't mean what she had said and that he had never drawn blood before...smacks of trying to wriggle out but we will take further action if she doesn't pay up and if I ever see her again and the dog isn't on a lead at least.
