Head collars can be quite hard to introduce but as with anything new it has to be used with patience.

If you find you are yanking the dog then you are using it incorrectly as with all items like this they really are and should be used in conjunction with training they are not a solution in itself.

I stopped walking Aston for a while and made my partner do it, as he could take the pain, I couldn't

Anyway we went to Pets at Home where he was fitted with a halti head collar, and I couldn't believe the difference.
It was great,he wasn't happy with it to begin with but now I can happily walk my baby without having my arms dragged here there and everywhere.

I agree that if your dog's head is being yanked using the halti then you must be using it incorrectly as I can assure you Aston's head is definitely not being yanked when we use it!!!
