Sorry for my delay Leo, had a few more probs since you posted. Yes I downloaded from the update site and apparently the win32 file has a virus in it... BUT I have also since learned that my daughter was on her email earlier that day and so it could have come from something she has done.
So not sure where it came from now.

BUT the good news is that Santa brought me a new graphics card, so my pc should be up and running again just as soon as I can get it networked (so steer clear of this section over the next week, as I no doubt will be begging for lots of help again )

Isn't santa great he brings you just what you want.

Thanks Leo for your kind offer, no doubt in the future I will be needing further advice. I managed to do remote assistance for the first time ever, and I am happy to say that I had 2 pcs back on the net Fingers crossed it stays that way
