I feed Skinners Duck and Rice or Autarky Chicken and Rice. Both under £20 for 15kg.

If his budget is tiny, then he could feed less of the dry, and add some "average" wet, or pad out with Veggies, Tinned Sardines etc

To be honest a medium quality dry tends to cost less than a low quality wet food IMO, when you look at how much you have to feed of each. I think it would be better value to feed more dry, and soak it rather than add wet if the dog won't eat it all dry.

Given its ingredients, I wouldn't necessarily say Chappie was great quality, but for some reason it just seems to agree with a lot of dogs.
Try this website 'fittlifepetfood.com'. Food is of Arden Grange quality. 15kg bags of hypoallergenic food. You can download a PDF of the ingredients in each flavour. I recommend Salmon and potato at £28.50 per bag. 36% Salmon and 26% potato. No artificial colourings or flavourings.

Don't buy online though. Call the number on the webpage to order.

I'd research 'Bakers'. Full of preservatives and colourants. Low meat content etc. My advice ,which people will disagree with, is to go with hypoallergenic high meat content dry foods. Many of the additives are Carcinogenic in the likes of bakers and the cheaper low meat content brands. Easy to research on the internet. It is worth the effort though.

I managed to get my cousin to feed the dane on skinners duck and rice after she was being fed on value biscuits. She went from 6 cups a day to just over 2 and even though the bag costs more it lasts longer.

If he's happy to spend a bit more I like fishmonhers (£30 for 12kg, grain free and 60% meat) but this only costs me £3 a week to feed (although K is only 13kg).

And pictures!...
