I thought there were some very specific items mentioned in the links re surfaces, food etc?

I am not sure what you mean by dead links? They all work for me?

Would it not have been a wee bit more helpful to give personal advice though, and not just post links, which could maybe a bit of an overload?

Incidentally, not all of the links worked for me either.

I agree , it all very well posting a page full of links but it can be seen very much as an overload, and become a bit like "background noise"... a personal reply is much more beneficial for the person asking.

It seems Katie already understands the concept of early socialisation, and was simply asking for "ideas" she may have missed .

Seems you have it covered, good luck with your new baby.

P.S........... some of those links are no longer working .

You seem to have got the idea perfectly as to what she needs to meet.

Only thing I'd add is to make sure you don't swamp her - that will have an adverse effect. Make sure all experiences are as pleasant and rewarding as you can make them. For example, when the kids come out of school, ask them to approach one or two at a time and not a big group of them all prodding and poking.

Enjoy your pup. They grow up very, very quickly

Oh dear I have no idea why those links do not work for some of you, they work perfectly for me.

Smokeybear - the first and last pages both say "page not found" for me too.

Some of those links don't work for me either, still I don't suppose that it matters because the OP pretty much knows what she is doing, and was merely looking for a discussion on the odd aspect that she may have missed.

I have been taking wiggins all over, mostly thanks to advice on here! I felt a little victory when i took him out with 2 friends and their 1 year old pups; 1 was scared by dogs and the other by anything with wheels (particularly embarassing because there were a lot of kids on new bikes and she barks and lunges- they are working on it!) but wiggins was great- if anything he is a bit over excited and collected quite a lot of bread from kids feeding ducks!
The vet was great with him i took him when my older dog had conjunctivitis, she got him up on the table and had a cuddle and a play with him so i don't think he will mind going again! I think you do have everything covered though! We are now at the stage of getting him used to things we want to do with him- mostly fell walking and visiting doggy pubs so we are improving recall, wait, lead walking and freezing in outdoor cafes! We are at puppy class still too, that has been well worth doing!

Another one I read a while ago was to get the pup to meet people with hats and glasses and men with beards!
