If you were closer OH could have made one to fit your car..He did that for mine..with escape hatches and a removable divider..

Someone posted a pic of a rav 4..think it was for a tailgate guard..the pic of the boot had a protector inside it..could you see if they make them to fit your C4

Maybe a bit expensive to buy new but have a look at cabtransitboxes - they stock second hand ones also - absolutely fantastic bit of kit.
