Awhile ago they were showing a device that fitted to cars that wouldnt let you start the car if you had too much to drink and the best part I thought was that you also had to do another test while driving if you failed the cars horn would sound and then the car would stop itself so it would work even if they got a sober person to start the car I would have no problem getting one of these fitted to my kids cars when they are older.

My friend was killed by a drunk driver........

Then 10 years ago my hubby was hit by a drunk driver at 12.30in the afternoon, OH was on his way back to work at lunch time and was side swiped by an idiot that thought the crawler lane of a hill could be used two ways

The drunk driver was 3.5 times of the limit at 12.30pm from a session the night before!....he had only got his licence back after a previous drink driving ban!

Kenny's (my oh) car was hit so hard kenny was shot out of th sunroof and landed 20 ft away from the car!.....we were gobsmacked when he was only bruised and shaken!

If I ever suspect someone of drink driving I would have no problem in shopping them to the cops!

Sponge I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and I'm glad your hubs got away with bruises, it could of been a lot worse

I honestly thenk that if someone looses thier life at the hands of a drink driver, the driver of that car should be charge with murder, not some slap on the wrist that they normally get. At the end of the day, if you kill someone, be it with a car or otherwise, the same penalties should apply in both cases.
