Staffordshire bull terrier;
Strength, courage, loveable, happy and above all else, extremely affectionate

I wont comment on my thoughts about the 'irish' strain of staffords,
But I have nothing against athletically bred staffords

This thread is about Irish and not "KC" staffordshire bulls.
the question is about the Irish dogs please don't worry about voiceing your opinions! I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want honest opinions!

OK
I along with other people feel that the 'irish' term is just something that is used to cover there real heritage, I think we no what I am trying to say
Mind you, I still think there lovely dogs, but theres no real point in calling them 'irish' staffords, as they look nothing like a stafford
thats my opinion ofcourse, and I dont want to start a full blown arguement

lol I'm not looking for an arguement! just to get peoples opinions! and try to understand where these opinions come from? e.g. your comment "I along with other people feel that the 'irish' term is just something that is used to cover there real heritage, I think we no what I am trying to say" what is ment by this? I think if it's looked into properly it would be found that the "Irish dogs" come from the same lines as many KC reg staffords! so what is ment by "cover up there real heritage" and where did you get the information that formed that opinion?

thanks for your input

Arrgghhh wrote long reply and dogsey ate it!!!

My opinion when I hear the term I am suspicious. Lots of people own these dogs with no real clue as to what they are .... the whole IKC thing as in NOT the Irish KC which was surely invented to deceive?? Pit bull types rebranded and iffy owners.

I have never met one however I know lots of nice Irish people lots of nice terriers and I have met lovely pit bulls in the US

Well, I wont go into to much detail about why I believe 'Irish' staffords have pitbull lines in them, but I would like to mention this,
if 'irish' stafford are from kc lines then how come ch stormer, a very well known 'irish' stafford, was actually a cross

I quote;

CH. “Stormer”.

Stormer was a cross English bull terrier / Staffordshire bull terrier & his name shows up in many show winning dogs of today. Stormer was born in Irland and then was brought over to England were he became a stud dog and was bred to selected bitches.

Thats all I have to say on the matter
